2017 Teeny Awards: What It Is & What To Wear
When the summer heat dies down and the yellow buses start running again, you know it’s Teeny Awards time!
WHAT IT IS
The Teeny Awards celebrate the things teens (aka Seattle’s trendsetting young taste-makers) love in our local arts & culture scene! The winners are selected by popular vote — in other words, YOU choose which shows, exhibits and organizations should receive coveted awards such as “Best Aesthetics,” “The Treat Yo’ Self (or our favorite thing to see during finals week) Award” or “Best Front-of-House Experience.” We’ll send you everything you need to know about voting soon.

The Teeny Awards are everything that you could ever want in a giant arts party: swag bags, cupcakes, exclusive chances to see performances by wicked local artists!
This year we are super pumped to celebrate with you on September 24th at the Vera Project, Seattle’s all ages music venue, and at the Chihuly Garden and Glass.
2:30pm — lobby opens at the Vera Project:
Get your red carpet photos, snacks on snacks, cupcakes,
win swag bags, make some button art, and groove to our teen approved DJ
3:30-5pm — the show begins:
Hosted by teen dream musical theater genius Justin Huertas,
with surprise musical guests, Jet City Improv, and much more!
5-8pm — gala dinner at Chihuly Garden & Glass
If you’re a fancy party person, join us for dinner after the awards ceremony the Chihuly Garden Glasshouse under the Space Needle. We’re celebrating TeenTix’s 13th birthday and raising $$ to keep TeenTix awesome for the next 13!
WHAT TO WEAR
Having a wardrobe meltdown? Don't worry! We're here to present a comprehensive guide on how to dress to impress at Seattle’s premiere teen arts event.
Step one: Put on your favorite item of clothing! Wear your most fabulous outfit or your most comfortable jeans. This is your once in a lifetime chance to express your out-of-this-world individual style! We hear there might even be ~paparazzi~!
Step two: Accessories are the key! Here at TeenTix, we love anything that will bring sparkles and shimmers to an outfit. Don't have anything that matches your outfit? Don't panic, there will be a chance to make your own individualized decorative buttons during the pre-show activities. Our birthday party theme colors are red, black, and gold, dress according to the theme, or not!

About the Author: Wendy Zhen, current TeenTix New Guard member and TeenTix pass holder. Wendy is a rising senior at the Overlake School, she is a part of the Bellevue Youth Symphony and loves to doodle and sketch on every possible surface. Her favourite places to go with her TeenTix pass includes the opera, science musems, as well as arts fair in the summer!
