In this camp, students will explore the world of visual effects by learning how to create and record physical effects from classic films using models, mattes, and other tricks. Whether you’re new to animation or have been making it for a while, this camp will help you get to the next level and create more complex animations! You will have time and mentorship to design and create an original animation during the camp. This program is structured so that young people play together in a special morning session. Youth later take the lead to help teach their adult band-mates when the whole group meets – with the objective to provide leadership and mentor opportunities to both youth and adults. Rain City Rock Camp for Girls Advanced Music Program

Come for a week-long intensive study of playing in a band, songwriting, music business, and empowerment workshops, off-site trips to studios and venues, and more! Campers come for a weeklong crash course in playing an instrument, songwriting, social justice and empowerment workshops and more! Approach jazz with a holistic understanding of its history and development! Get your funk on! Inspired by the long time New Orleans second line tradition, we are forming a NEW summer second line group. You’ll learn 3-4 new songs by memory to perform in the Seafair Torchlight Parade in downtown Seattle. This music is super fun and festive. Think riff-based music. LOUD and PROUD. This workshop gives high school students the opportunity to learn, stage, and perform songs and scenes from opera and musical theatre. Participants will work with a music director, stage director, and choreographer to bring theatrical moments to life, which they will present in a performance at the Opera Center. Working with three local professional comedians, campers will learn the basics of improv, sketch comedy, and stand-up. In the second week of camp, they’ll prepare for a final showcase at Unexpected Productions Market Theater.
