New York City’s premier hip-hop improv comedy team, North Coast, is a unique collaboration of improvisational comedy, hip hop, beatboxing, and music. This musical improv workshop will get even the most beginner performers comfortable and confident with freestyle rapping and will teach you how to really drill into the deal of your scene and its’ characters. Learn how to set yourself up, find your flow, and weave your rapped verses in and out of your improv scene-work.
Skills offered in class:
- Freestyle rapping techniques
- Detailed scene-work instruction
- Rhyming skills
- Hip hop improv approach

20th Seattle International Festival of Improv

This is a special improv workshop for TeenTix members ONLY, being offered during the 20th Seattle International Festival of Improv. Come learn what the pros are doing on stage in this FREE class! Improvisation skills not only make you a better performer, but provide life-long tools you can use every day. In the games, you will learn patience, self-confidence, strong communication skills, and a respect for other performers and their creativity. Due to limited space, a maximum of 20 students may take this workshop.

July 18 - 22, 2016
Spend a week working with Seattle’s premiere improv company. The professionally-trained instructors create a fun and supportive environment within which you will explore, develop, and succeed (and have a blast)!
Over the course of 5 days, improvisers ages 12 and above will explore the unique process of improvisation. Each day, students dive into an exciting array of expertly crafted theater games, improvisational exercises, ensemble-building activities and performance opportunities. Instructors support students as they discover the many benefits of improv off-stage—new friendships, stronger communication skills, confidence in imagination, applied creativity, collaboration, and openness to new ideas. The week will culminate with a performance at Unexpected Productions’ Market Theater! Click here for more information and to register.
Important Deets
When: Each session runs Monday-Thursday from 10:00 pm – 12:30 pm & Friday from 2:30pm-5:30 pm, with the performance on the 22nd at 5:30 pm.
Tuition: $199
Experience: No previous improv or theater experience is required or necessary.
