Partnership for Youth: Storytelling Through Animation

presented by Frye Art Museum in partnership with Reel Grrls and Rec Tec

Mar 18 - May 16, 4:30 - 6:30 PM

Grades 9 - 12

Throughout this 8-week program, teens will meet twice a week to learn the essentials of creating a stop-motion animation from Reel Grrls teaching artist, filmmaker, and animator Celena Adler and teaching artist Elise Harper. Utilizing readily available technology, including computer tablets and applications, students will work together to tell stories, animate, and edit their work into short films. During this process, teens will not only learn a new way of making art using technology, but will gain insights on how films and museum exhibitions are produced. Plus, students who complete the program receive a stipend!

The program is free to participate and will culminate in an exhibition showcasing the production process and finished animated films, which will be on view at the Frye Art Museum in Summer 2019! More info and registration available here.
