Welcome The 14/48 Projects!
Please help us welcome our newest partner organization, The 14/48 Projects! Yay!!!
If you've never heard of them, you're about to get let in to the cool kids' club. If you've been hoping to take your theatre excursions to the next level, here it is.
No one can fully prepare you for what you'll experience at a 14/48 Projects show (literally), but here are the basics:
14/48: The World's Quickest Theatre Festival is a 48-hour festival where 14 plays are written, cast, directed, rehearsed, scored, designed, premiered in 48 hours. Seattle Magazine calls it "a Seattle treasure". The Stranger calls it "a punishing artistic exercise in speed and endurance".
Theatre Anonymous is a play where nobody knows the cast...including the cast. What? Okay, here's how it works: Actors rehearse one-on-one with the director, never meeting their fellow actors. They enter the theater in street clothes, sit with the audience until their first line, and deliver it from the audience before joining the rest of the cast onstage.
Curious? You should be. You can satisfy that curiosity at two upcoming 14/48 Projects events:
Theatre Anonymous: It's a Wonderful Life
Saturday, December 14
8:00 PM
Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center (aka INTIMAN)
