Electric Poe by the Coterie Theatre at Union Cemetery
October 17 - November 3
- TeenTix KC pass holders can buy $5 tickets on the day of the show (cash only).
- The Coterie’s pop-up Box Office will open 30 minutes before showtime at the front gates to Union Cemetery. The cemetery gates will lock when the show begins, so late sales or seating will not be available. All performances begin at 6:30pm except for Nov. 1st which begins at 5:30 to accommodate Daylight Savings Time.
- Arrive at the gates to Union Cemetery (227 East 28th Terrace, KCMO, 64108) no earlier than 30 minutes before showtime and show them your digital pass. You can buy a “Standing Room Only” ticket. SRO admission allows patrons to stand behind the chair seating area. TeenTix pass holders who bring chairs will be permitted to find seating once other ticket holders have been seated if space allows, so bringing a lawn chair is recommended. Availability may be limited.
Open Drawing featuring Alyx Jacobs at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art
6:00 - 8:00 pm, November 7
- Head to Kemper Museum the for an evening of community and creativity at this special session of Open Drawing with Kansas City-based artist Alyx Jacobs.
- Pick up a stool, drawing board, and provided drawing materials, or bring your own sketchbook and find a spot for open drawing at the museum alongside Alyx, who will be onsite chain stitching. Participants can purchase merchandise from the Kemper Museum Shop that can be customized with a flash sheet of Alyx's designs inspired by art on view or bring in their own clothing or accessories.

Merriment and Madness, Next Gen: Opus 76 + Youth Symphony of Kansas City at Midwest Trust Center in Yardley Hall

- Experience the extremes of the emotional spectrum in Classical Music. The levity and charm of Mozart’s Quartet K 499 and Grieg’s Holberg suite are interposed between Beethoven’s op.95 and Shostakovich’s haunting 8th Quartet, for what promises to be an event full of thrills and excitement with Opus 76 and students of the Youth Symphony of Kansas City.

Owen/Cox Dance Group: The Nutcracker & the Mouse King at Midwest Trust Center in Polsky Theatre
7:30 pm, Friday, December 13 & 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 15
- Almost everyone is familiar with the traditional version of the holiday story, “The Nutcracker.” Far fewer are aware of the original and notably darker inspiration for this beloved ballet – E.T.A Hoffman’s 1816 story, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” Owen/Cox Dance Group brings their highly unique, contemporary jazz adaptation of “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” back to the Midwest Trust Center this holiday season!

Infinite Regress: Mystical Abstraction from the Permanent Collection and Beyond at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

- Infinite Regress brings the past in dialogue with the present through selections from the Permanent Collection paired with works by contemporary artists exhibiting at the museum for the first time on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. The exhibition connects these works through a shared vocabulary of mystical abstraction that has both historical and contemporary resonance, engaging periods of extreme transformation in nature and technology.
