Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras

Founded in 1942, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) is the largest youth orchestra training program in the United States. SYSO creates community and accessible music experiences for over 1,400 students each year through several academic year orchestras, including low- to no-cost community-centric ensembles in the south Seattle area; a conservatory for extended musical studies and exploration; summer programs for students ages 6-23; and multiple extensive in-school partnerships. By awarding over $180,000 in tuition assistance annually, SYSO ensures that every talented student can participate in our programs, regardless of financial resources.
